Mentoring

Mentoring is about listening without judging the individual no matter what the situation. My strength is the ability to remain objective and being able to take a step back and see a situation from a number of points of view. I aim to get you to visualise where you might be coming from which can be difficult for you to see - and if you simply wish to offload be my guest.

  1. I work by teasing out the positive thing’s clients are saying and work on the negative. My job is to listen, reflect back what I am hearing and then explore what can be done. My job is to be on someone's side without taking sides, that way, the guidance I give helps feed the solution and not the problem. In addition to working with adults
  2. I work with parents whose child:
    • is in danger of being excluded from school
    • is not performing well at school
    • does not wish to carry on with higher education
    • is trying very hard but not achieving
  3. Being a mentor means that I will create a safe and confidential setting where individuals are able to develop.
  4. It is an environment where individual can make career-limiting moves confidently with a mentor whose responsibility is to be straight and clear with you.
  5. It is a place where individuals can meet up and just talk about anything.

I do not tell people how they should be feeling or solve problems, it is important for people to make their own mistakes, I will make my point of view obvious and it will be up to you to accept my facilitation and encouraging methods.

My facilitation method is such that as a skilled mentor I interpret difficulties, resolve conflict and cut through time wasting and obstructions which enables individuals to develop new applications that will work in their lives. I look for things that might not be apparent - it’s about allowing and creating an environment where forward clear movement is the key to success.
